Circumstances beyond our control have necessitated the shift from an interpersonal/in-person ministry model to a virtual online ministry model for the foreseeable future. So ALL in-person/interpersonal ministries of the church, regardless of location are suspended until further notice.
There are 3 major factors in our decision to temporarily suspend ALL "in-person/interpersonal" ministries until further notice.
The president has said no groups larger than 10 (which is effectively 0) for 8 weeks.
Local schools are, as of today, officially closed until April 15. We have historically used the school closure calendar as a baseline for church activities. The rationale being: if the schools deem meeting unsafe for students and adult staff we are sending the wrong message if we then do the opposite.
It is a manifestation of the “law of love. Philippians 2:3–4 (NLT) Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
We pray for a swift conclusion of this pandemic and its effects. But, the way things are changing (hourly it seems) we are planning for an indefinite extension of the same. Major events and even businesses have begun cancelling into early May, and just yesterday the State of Kansas cancelled school for the remainder of the term. So, either way we are prepared to continue in the purest sense of the compound word, "co-operating" with the Holy Spirit as He "brags on Jesus" through us (John 16:14-15).
