Stress, frustration, anxiety, discouragement, fear; I’m assuming you have experienced one or all these in the past two months? Not all of us have been stressed for the same reasons; each of us has had our own unique challenges. I am completing 42 years of ministry in June, and I cannot recall a challenge which has been as complex and consistently demanding as this one.
All the while we are told diamonds are formed by pressure, and the Apostle says gold is purified by fire. “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,” (1 Peter 1:6–7 NKJV)
I thank God for His faithfulness through His people. So many of you have been praying and encouraging throughout this process. Make sure to know your prayers are not in vain. On May 18, we devoted the day to prayer for guidance, and I’ll share in the future how He wonderfully answered the same. The book of Nehemiah in the Bible is named for its most notable character, but someone once observed the real hero of the book was the people. I found the word “people” in Nehemiah used over 50 times. The same is true of DAC. We have been squeezed and I’m so thrilled to have seen love come out from so many.
Your prayers continue to be coveted, and your support invaluable. So, below is a direct link to a brief four question survey which has been requested by the Safety Task Force to provide the Elders and Board of Ministries with helpful information. Better than thanks I would rather say, thanking God for you, I remain;
Yours in Christ,
