Moving Forward
This past weekend the governor announced what he titled phase 3 guidelines. His directive was essentially a return to a pre-pandemic state. Since March, we have consistently tried to cooperate with the governor’s directives. What does this mean for us in DAC?
Values
The challenge for us as leadership throughout this pandemic has been to balance the needs of everyone in light of sound Biblical principles. We are keenly aware there is a wide gamut of opinions and needs within the church. Consequently, the following scriptures will inform our actions:
Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.(Romans 14:1 NIV)
Never act out of selfish ambition or vanity; instead, regard everybody else as your superior. 4 Look after each other’s best interests, not your own.(Philippians 2:3–4 BFE)
- Examples:
- You may or may not want to wear a mask. Don’t judge others, respect their opinion.
- Respect other people’s comfort level of engagement. Don’t be afraid to ask if you can shake hands or hug. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to say, “no,” to someone who asks.
- In light of healthy together practices, pandemic or not, we will continue to implement additional sanitation and cleaning protocols including hand sanitizing stations etc.
- We don’t want to exclude anyone. Our online ministry preceded, continues, and trusting God will succeed the pandemic.
Adults It is assumed you will make wise decisions.
Life Groups: Each group, whether they meet on or off campus, will be responsible to make their own decisions on how they want to proceed. If there are differences of opinions within the group, respect should be exercised by all, and plans made which make participation available to all. Also, leaders keep Pastor Bill Hartman and Pastor Dave Edwards (DeLand groups) in the loop regarding your plans.
Worship: If you want to attend in person, but also want to continue protocols (distancing, etc.), we do not want you to be excluded. So, we suggest the 8:31 a.m. Deltona service which will continue as is.
Worship Arts
Very much like adult life groups, Pastor Carly Joseph will work with his leaders and ministry teams and make decisions regarding music related ministries.
Children and Students
Pastor Mike Duffy and Andrew Brown will also work with their teams to implement the same.
Logistical
Patti Race church operations manager will process decisions for other logistical, support ministries.
Serving you for Him,
Pastor Brad and Pastoral Team, Elders, and Board of Ministries
